Yu Hey-tsit, the owner of the now-closed Prime Solid Learning Education Centre in Hong Kong, was sentenced to six years and four months in prison on Tuesday. The High Court found Yu guilty of molesting five boys who were between the ages of seven and 14 at the time of the incidents. In addition to the physical acts of molestation, the court heard evidence that Yu filmed some of the offenses while the children were at the tutorial centre.

During the sentencing, the judge described Yu’s actions as “despicable and repulsive.” The court also reviewed a report from a government psychologist, which attempted to provide context for the defendant's behavior by pointing to his personal upbringing. The case has drawn attention due to the breach of trust involved in a private educational setting, as the victims were students attending the centre for academic support.
