He specifically directed his criticism toward the Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

In response, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi held a briefing to address the charges. Trivedi characterized the allegations as baseless and suggested that the opposition is attempting to manufacture a narrative of anti-incumbency where none exists. The BJP maintains that the electoral process is transparent and that the opposition's rhetoric is a strategic attempt to undermine public trust in constitutional institutions following unfavorable political outcomes.

While the BJP framed the remarks as a desperate political tactic, Gandhi’s camp maintains that their concerns regarding the commission's oversight are legitimate and require further investigation.
