The China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) officially launched a permanent online tribute page dedicated to Tung Chee-hwa, who served as the first Chief Executive of Hong Kong following the 1997 handover. The foundation, which was originally established by Tung in 2008, announced the project on Monday.

The memorial serves as a digital archive for reflections on Tung's career and leadership. According to the foundation, the site has already gathered more than 100 testimonials from prominent global figures. Notable contributors mentioned by the foundation include Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus and former United States ambassador to China, Max Baucus.

The initiative is framed by the foundation as a way to document Tung’s political legacy and his impact on international relations. While the foundation highlights the project as a significant historical record, the launch occurs within the context of Tung's long-standing role in Hong Kong's political history and his ongoing influence through the foundation he founded. The site is intended to remain a permanent fixture, allowing for continued submissions and public access to the collected reflections.
