In direct contrast to the American position, officials in Tehran have rejected the claim that any negotiations are occurring. Esmaeil Baghaei, a spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated clearly on Monday that there are no ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington, nor are there any plans for such meetings in the immediate future. Iranian officials clarified that discussions regarding the management of the Hormuz Strait are currently being conducted through Omani mediation, rather than direct US-Iran channels.
