Ukrainian Member of Parliament Lisa Yasko has publicly rejected the optimism surrounding these discussions. Yasko stated that there is no evidence to suggest that Russian President Vladimir Putin has any genuine interest in ending the war. Furthermore, she criticized the approach taken by US envoys, describing their diplomatic tone toward the Russian president as "disgraceful" and emphasizing that the Ukrainian government does not trust the current framework of these talks.
