A political disagreement has emerged between the DMK and Congress regarding the naming of a student-focused event led by Rahul Gandhi. The event, titled 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' (Echo of Students), has drawn criticism from DMK spokesperson A. Saravanan, who publicly questioned the choice of language.

Saravanan expressed frustration over the use of Hindi, stating that the party should have been aware of the regional sentiment regarding the language in Tamil Nadu. He argued that the event should have been titled in either English or Tamil to better align with the local context. This incident highlights the ongoing sensitivity surrounding language politics in Southern India, where the imposition or prominence of Hindi is frequently a point of contention for regional parties like the DMK, which often advocate for the preservation and prioritization of the Tamil language.

As of now, Congress has not issued a formal response to the DMK's criticism.
