A new web-based project called Earth Garden has launched, offering users an interactive way to experience the world through audio. The site features a 3D globe interface that allows visitors to click on different geographic locations to play field recordings captured in those specific areas. These recordings range from natural settings, such as flowing brooks, to the sounds of urban environments.

The project is designed for both passive listening, such as background noise for work or sleep, and active listening, where users focus on the specific acoustic nuances of a location. The concept is modeled after the existing platform Radio Garden, which maps live radio broadcasts globally. While Radio Garden focuses on human-made media, Earth Garden shifts the focus to environmental soundscapes. The platform is currently available for public use, providing a digital archive of audio snapshots from around the world.
