A recent note issued by the Election Commission (EC) has become the focal point of a political disagreement between the ruling BJP-led coalition and the opposition Congress party. The document was intended to provide clarity on specific election-related procedures that had previously been the subject of debate.

Chandrababu Naidu, a leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and a key ally of the BJP, has publicly endorsed the EC’s note. Naidu described the document as a "unanimous clarification" and asserted that it effectively puts an end to the misconceptions that had been circulating regarding the electoral process. From the perspective of the ruling coalition, the matter is now considered settled.

Conversely, the Congress party has rejected the notion that the issue is resolved. Representatives from Congress have stated that the EC’s note fails to provide sufficient detail on several "unanswered questions" they had previously raised. While the BJP and its allies are treating the note as a definitive conclusion to the controversy, the opposition continues to signal that they are unsatisfied with the level of transparency provided by the Commission. The disagreement highlights a persistent divide in how the two sides interpret the Commission's role and the adequacy of its official communications.
