The conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi movement has intensified, characterized by conflicting reports of military strikes and strategic targeting. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated on Wednesday that Saudi Arabian forces conducted 40 airstrikes using F-15 aircraft over a 24-hour period. According to the Houthis, these strikes targeted the provinces of Taiz, Marib, and Hodeidah, areas where the group has recently reported territorial gains along the Red Sea coast.

Simultaneously, Saudi Arabia has accused the Houthi rebels of launching a drone attack aimed at the holy city of Mecca. Saudi officials described the alleged attempt as a "cowardly" act, which has prompted widespread condemnation from various regional leaders. The Houthi movement has formally denied these claims, labeling the Saudi accusation a "lie" and asserting that no such drone was launched toward the site.

Beyond these specific military engagements, the broader conflict is impacting regional infrastructure. Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia is facing increased pressure as Houthi drones and missiles target the kingdom. Additionally, the East-West Pipeline, a critical piece of Saudi energy infrastructure, has been disabled following a separate drone attack attributed to Iran-aligned militias in Iraq, further complicating the kingdom’s strategic options in the ongoing regional instability.
