On Monday, the Surat Crime Branch intercepted a vehicle traveling from Vadodara to Mumbai, leading to the arrest of a former air hostess. Authorities reported that the suspect was in possession of Mephedrone, a synthetic stimulant commonly referred to as MD, with an estimated street value of Rs 30 lakh.

According to the Surat Crime Branch, the operation was initiated following specific intelligence regarding the transit of illegal narcotics. The suspect, whose identity has not been fully disclosed in initial reports, was taken into custody during the vehicle stop. Police are currently investigating the extent of the smuggling network and whether the suspect was acting alone or as part of a larger interstate syndicate. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to trace the source of the drugs and the intended recipients in Mumbai.
