Authorities in Gujarat have arrested a forest guard and a private agent following a successful sting operation at the Surajbari checkpost. The incident involved forest guard Hareshbhai Hemrajbhai Chaudhari, who was stationed in the Bhachau range, and an associate identified as Jamansa Osaman Sayyad.

According to reports, the operation was initiated using a decoy to test for corrupt practices at the location. During the encounter, the private agent, Sayyad, allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 100. Investigators state that Sayyad was acting under the direct instructions of Chaudhari at the time the money was exchanged. The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by local anti-corruption units to monitor and curb illicit demands for small payments at state checkposts. Both individuals are currently in custody as the investigation into the incident continues.
