Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) recently completed the formal handover of two significant aviation platforms to the Indian Air Force: the indigenous twin-seater Tejas light combat aircraft and the HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft. The event, held to mark the integration of these domestically produced assets into the military's fleet, featured a ceremonial display of the aircraft.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of Civil Aviation K Rammohan Naidu were present at the ceremony to oversee the transition of the equipment. As part of the proceedings, a traditional pooja was performed, reflecting the cultural context often associated with such state-led defense milestones in India. The delivery of these aircraft is part of a broader government initiative to bolster domestic defense manufacturing, often referred to as 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' or self-reliant India. The twin-seater Tejas is expected to enhance training capabilities for pilots transitioning to the fighter jet, while the HTT-40 will serve as the primary platform for basic flight training.
