The Hong Kong Ballet has confirmed plans to relocate to the city’s first dedicated dance venue, known as the “Dancehouse,” located within the WestK Performing Arts Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District. The move is scheduled to take place in April 2027 and will secure the company a home at the new facility for a minimum of five years.

This transition concludes the ballet company’s 16-year tenure at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, a government-run facility that has served as its primary base since 2008. The decision to move was first signaled in an announcement made by the company last December, which noted the upcoming departure from its long-standing Tsim Sha Tsui location. The new venue is part of the broader development of the West Kowloon Cultural District, an area designed to centralize the city's arts and performance institutions. While the move represents a significant shift in the company's operational footprint, the institution and the West Kowloon Cultural District authorities have framed the relocation as a strategic step toward establishing a specialized home for dance in Hong Kong.
