The Hong Kong Police Force has confirmed a significant increase in reports regarding suspicious credit card activity involving Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro series. As of Tuesday, the number of reported cases reached 1,503, marking a notable rise from the approximately 1,200 reports documented two weeks prior. The total financial value associated with these unauthorized transactions is estimated to exceed HK$30 million (US$3.82 million).

Police Commissioner Joe Chow addressed the situation during a recent Kowloon City district council meeting, providing an update on the ongoing investigation. According to official statements from the force, all of the flagged transactions have been successfully cancelled. The surge in reports has drawn considerable public attention, as many consumers expressed concern over the security of their financial information in relation to the new device launch.
