India and France are deepening their bilateral cooperation in space exploration through the development of the Thermal Infrared Imaging Satellite for High-resolution Natural Resource Assessment, known as TRISHNA. This joint mission aims to enhance the monitoring of Earth's water sources and natural resources by providing high-resolution thermal data.

The satellite is designed to achieve a spatial resolution of better than 60 meters, allowing for detailed observation of surface temperatures and water usage. A key feature of the mission is its high revisit frequency, with the satellite scheduled to pass over target areas several times each week. This capability is intended to provide scientists and policymakers with consistent, up-to-date information regarding water availability and environmental changes.

While the project highlights the growing strategic partnership between the two nations in the aerospace sector, the current reports focus primarily on the technical specifications of the satellite.
