The Indian government has officially dismissed statements issued by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group regarding the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The rejection, characterized by New Delhi as categorical, serves as a continuation of India's long-standing policy of dismissing international commentary on what it considers an internal matter.

India has consistently maintained that the OIC lacks the standing to comment on matters related to its sovereign territory. The OIC, a bloc of 57 member states, frequently issues statements regarding the human rights situation and political status of Kashmir, often drawing sharp rebukes from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. While the OIC advocates for the rights of Kashmiri people and calls for international oversight, India views these interventions as factually incorrect and politically motivated attempts to interfere in its domestic affairs.

There is a fundamental disagreement between the two parties regarding the legitimacy of the OIC's involvement. The OIC maintains that it has a mandate to address issues affecting Muslim populations globally, including those in Kashmir. Conversely, India asserts that the group is being manipulated by specific member nations—most notably Pakistan—to advance a specific geopolitical agenda against India. This diplomatic friction remains a recurring feature of India's foreign policy, with New Delhi routinely issuing formal rejections whenever the OIC includes Kashmir in its meeting agendas or final communiqués.
