Authorities investigating the attack linked to actor Tiger Shroff have detailed the complex supply chain used to procure the weapon involved. According to police reports, the pistol was initially retrieved from a 'dead letter box'—a pre-arranged, hidden location—in Amritsar.

Both India Today and the Hindustan Times report that the weapon was subsequently transported to Mumbai. The investigation has identified that two women were instrumental in moving the firearm to the city. India Today specifically highlights the role of a girlfriend in assisting the shooters with the logistics of the operation, while the Hindustan Times focuses on the tactical delivery method, noting that the weapon was collected from Amritsar before being moved by the two women.

While both outlets agree on the core facts regarding the weapon's origin and the involvement of female accomplices in the transport, they differ slightly in their emphasis. India Today frames the narrative around the personal connections and relationships of the shooters, whereas the Hindustan Times emphasizes the logistical methodology of the crime, such as the use of the dead drop technique. Neither report has yet identified the specific motive behind the attack or the current status of the suspects beyond their logistical involvement.
