According to reports from Shahrara News, Araghchi stated that the two countries are currently defining new, temporary maritime routes for commercial shipping. He explained that previously established routes are no longer functional, necessitating the creation of a new, temporary designation for vessel passage.

Araghchi explicitly sought to decouple these technical maritime discussions from other diplomatic negotiations currently taking place between Iran and Oman. While he confirmed that broader talks are ongoing, he characterized the maritime route project as a separate, technical matter.
