Kévi Donat has launched an agency called Le Paris Noir, which offers guided tours of Paris designed to highlight the historical presence and contributions of Black individuals in the city. The project seeks to challenge conventional perceptions of Parisian history by focusing on the stories of Black men and women who have lived and worked in the French capital.

According to Donat, the primary goal of the agency is to place these narratives at the center of the city's identity. By tracing the footsteps of significant historical figures, the tours aim to provide a more comprehensive view of Paris, which Donat describes as being significantly more diverse than many visitors or residents might expect. The initiative functions as both an educational tool and a platform for historical reclamation, ensuring that the influence of Black history is recognized as an integral part of the city's past rather than an peripheral addition.

While the project is framed as a mission to restore historical accuracy, it also serves as a commentary on how urban history is curated and presented to the public. Donat’s work suggests that the traditional image of Paris often excludes the multicultural reality that has existed for decades, if not centuries. Through these tours, the agency invites participants to engage with a version of Paris that acknowledges its complex, diverse heritage, effectively bridging the gap between historical fact and public memory.
