Mad Sandhu, a well-known LGBTQ activist and makeup artist, was killed in an attack in Amritsar, Punjab, this past Saturday. According to reports, two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle approached Sandhu and opened fire before fleeing the scene. The incident has sparked a significant reaction within the region, drawing attention to the security situation in Punjab.

The political fallout from the shooting has been immediate. NDTV reports that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is facing intense pressure from opposition parties regarding the state of law and order. The opposition is using the high-profile nature of the crime to criticize the current administration's ability to maintain public safety. In contrast, the Hindustan Times report focuses primarily on the victim's professional background, identifying him as a makeup artist and influencer, while providing fewer details regarding the political implications of the event.

While both outlets confirm the identity of the victim and the nature of the attack, they differ in their emphasis. NDTV frames the event through the lens of political accountability and government criticism, whereas the Hindustan Times presents the story as a localized crime report. Authorities have yet to release information regarding potential suspects or a motive for the shooting, and investigations are ongoing.
