Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the operator of Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands airports, recently disclosed a significant cyber-attack involving the unauthorized access of customer data. According to the company, the breach impacted approximately 8.7 million individuals who had used services such as car park bookings, airport lounges, fast-track security, and in-airport Wi-Fi.

The stolen information includes contact details such as email addresses and phone numbers, as well as postcodes and vehicle registration numbers. MAG emphasized that the incident did not compromise aviation security or passenger safety, and that daily airport operations continued without disruption. The company is currently working to address the breach and notify the affected customers. While the nature of the data accessed is sensitive, the operator maintains that core operational systems were not breached during the event.
