Manchester United have submitted an opening bid of £60 million, plus an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons, to secure the services of Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba. The 22-year-old Cameroon international has reportedly already agreed to personal terms with the Manchester club.

United’s pursuit of Baleba is not new; the club has been tracking the midfielder since the previous summer transfer window. At that time, Brighton reportedly valued the player at approximately £100 million. However, following a season characterized by inconsistent form and a current ankle injury, the player's market valuation has shifted.

While United officials are reportedly optimistic about finalizing a deal for under £75 million, the current offer of £65 million is still considered below Brighton’s asking price. If completed, Baleba would become Manchester United’s third midfield signing of the summer, following the acquisition of Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35 million. Negotiations are expected to continue as both clubs work to bridge the gap between the offer and the valuation.
