Mississippi Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Scott Colom is the subject of a new report by Breitbart News, which claims the candidate struggled to articulate a clear position on gender-affirming surgeries for minors during an undercover interview. The outlet characterizes Colom's response as a "struggle" to address the topic, framing the procedures as "child mutilation surgeries."

In a separate report, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) criticized the current slate of Democratic Senate candidates during an appearance on The Alex Marlow Show. Senator Scott argued that these candidates are aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America and suggested that their policy goals would "change the very DNA" of American identity.

While the reports focus on different subjects—one on a specific candidate's response to a social issue and the other on a broader critique of the Democratic party by a Republican senator—both articles originate from the same outlet and share a critical perspective on Democratic candidates. There is currently no public response from Scott Colom or other Democratic officials addressing these specific claims in the provided materials.
