Authorities in Gujarat conducted a significant drug seizure on the Malpur-Modasa highway after a high-speed chase involving local police. The operation was initiated by the Local Crime Branch (LCB) team while they were performing routine vehicle inspections near the Sun Gold Hotel, located on the outskirts of Mordungari village.

According to reports, the situation escalated into a pursuit when the suspects attempted to evade the police checkpoint. During the course of the chase, gunfire was exchanged between the suspects and the responding officers. Following the confrontation, police successfully stopped the vehicle and discovered 425 kilograms of poppy straw, a controlled substance, hidden inside. No injuries to law enforcement or civilians were reported in the immediate aftermath of the incident, and the suspects were taken into custody for further questioning regarding the origin and intended destination of the illicit cargo. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the scope of the smuggling operation and potential links to larger criminal networks in the region.
