Law enforcement officials in Guwahati have reported the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal narcotics hidden inside a commercial vehicle. According to West Guwahati Deputy Commissioner of Police Balin Deuri, the operation began when police stopped a truck that initially appeared to be empty during a routine inspection.

Upon conducting a more thorough search of the vehicle, officers discovered a specially constructed, concealed compartment designed to hide illicit goods. Following the discovery of the drugs, which officials estimate have a street value of approximately Rs 40 crore, police took two individuals into custody. The suspects are currently being questioned as part of an ongoing investigation into the origin and intended destination of the shipment. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the arrested individuals or the specific type of narcotics recovered, but the incident marks a notable success for local anti-drug enforcement efforts in the region.
