Portugal manager Jorge Jesus has addressed speculation regarding the international future of Cristiano Ronaldo, confirming that the player remains in his plans. Despite Ronaldo's advanced age and recent shifts in the team's tactical approach, Jesus emphasized that the door remains open for the forward to represent his country again.

The statement comes amidst ongoing discussions about the transition of the Portuguese squad toward younger talent. While some observers have suggested that the team should move on from the veteran star to focus on long-term development, Jesus’s comments suggest a more flexible approach to selection. The manager did not provide a specific timeline for a potential return or guarantee a starting position, but the acknowledgment serves as a formal invitation for Ronaldo to remain part of the national team setup if he maintains his form.

This development is significant given Ronaldo's status as the nation's all-time leading goalscorer and his long-standing influence within the squad. The decision to keep the door open reflects a balance between honoring the legacy of a key player and managing the inevitable evolution of the national team roster. As of now, the situation remains fluid, with the manager signaling that performance and tactical necessity will dictate future call-ups.
