President Trump is set to honor Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, with the National Medal of Science. The award ceremony is scheduled for Thursday at the White House as part of a broader event titled the “Science: A New Golden Age” summit.

According to reports confirmed by a White House official, Musk will be joined by three other prominent technology executives who are also slated to receive the honor. The National Medal of Science is traditionally awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to the fields of chemistry, engineering, computing, mathematics, or the biological, behavioral, social, and physical sciences.

While the White House has framed the event as a celebration of a new era for American science, the announcement has drawn attention due to Musk's high-profile status in both the private sector and his recent involvement in political discourse. The Hill reports that the ceremony will serve as a centerpiece for the administration's summit, which aims to highlight the intersection of private industry and scientific advancement. No further details regarding the specific scientific achievements being recognized for each recipient have been released at this time.
