Amritsar Rural Police have identified a connection between a local criminal gang and handlers based in Pakistan following an attack on a police officer. According to official statements, the gang was organized by an individual currently incarcerated at the Goindwal Sahib Central Jail.

Investigators allege that the inmate utilized a mobile phone from within the prison to communicate with handlers linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). This communication reportedly served to coordinate the gang's activities, which culminated in the recent assault on law enforcement.
