During recent diplomatic discussions, Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, addressed the necessity of establishing a formal security framework for the Gulf region. The core of his proposal centers on the idea that regional stability cannot be maintained under the current status quo. Instead, he argues for a structured agreement that ensures no nation in the region poses a threat to its neighbors.

A significant component of this proposed framework is the inclusion of Iran. By advocating for a system that accounts for Iran’s role in the region, Qatar is signaling a shift toward inclusive diplomacy rather than isolation.
