Fair Lane, the historic manor once owned by industrialist Henry Ford, is currently undergoing a comprehensive restoration. As part of the site's reopening, which is scheduled for next year, curators have announced plans to explicitly address Ford’s history of promoting antisemitic ideologies. This includes the display of conspiracy-laden materials, such as the newspaper Ford published, which contained content that fueled prejudice during his lifetime.

Curators describe the decision to confront this aspect of Ford’s legacy as a "long overdue" step in the site's historical interpretation. By incorporating these materials into the museum experience, the estate aims to provide a more complete and transparent account of the industrialist’s life, acknowledging both his contributions to the automotive industry and his role in spreading antisemitic rhetoric. The restoration project seeks to balance the preservation of the physical structure with a modern, critical examination of the historical figure who built it.
