Senator Ed Markey has successfully defended his seat in the Massachusetts Democratic Senate primary, defeating challenger Representative Seth Moulton. The race, which was called by the Associated Press and Decision Desk HQ, saw Markey secure a significant victory with approximately 74.1% of the vote compared to Moulton’s 25.9%.

Throughout the campaign, Moulton positioned his candidacy as a push for generational change, arguing that the 80-year-old incumbent was less effective due to his age. Markey, who previously served 20 terms in the House of Representatives before moving to the Senate, maintained his support among the Democratic base.
