Unilever International, which previously managed the supply of the product within the country, has officially stopped distributing the spread locally.

This supply chain shift has had an immediate impact on the market. With traditional retail shelves left empty, secondary markets have seen a dramatic increase in pricing. Some online platforms are currently listing the product at prices reaching seven times the standard retail cost. While the brand is known for being a polarizing product—often described as a 'love it or hate it' item—the sudden lack of availability has frustrated long-term fans who use the extract in both traditional toast spreads and local culinary recipes.

Industry analysts note that while Unilever has acknowledged the concerns of consumers, there has been no immediate announcement regarding a new distributor or a timeline for when the product might return to standard retail channels. The situation remains fluid, with consumers currently forced to rely on expensive third-party resellers if they wish to maintain their supply.
