Simultaneously, the Missouri Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling that blocks a Republican-drawn congressional map from taking effect before the November elections. The court determined that voters must first cast their ballots on a referendum regarding the proposed district lines. Consequently, Missouri will continue to use its existing congressional map, which was established following the 2020 census, for the 2026 midterm elections.
