Zack Coughlan, a university student, has formally admitted to the murder of his housemate, Jamie Collins. The incident occurred near the pair's shared residence in Bristol. During the legal proceedings, Coughlan changed his plea to guilty, acknowledging his role in the fatal stabbing, which involved 30 separate wounds.

While the legal outcome is now settled by the guilty plea, the case has drawn attention due to the severity of the violence and the proximity of the individuals involved as housemates. The court proceedings have moved toward sentencing following the admission. No further details regarding the specific motive or the events leading up to the altercation were provided in the initial reports, as the focus remained on the defendant's change of plea and the confirmation of the victim's identity.
