At approximately 3:48 a.m. on Wednesday, a landslide occurred at Gaushiya Chawl in the Chirag Nagar area of Ghatkopar, Mumbai. The incident prompted an immediate response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

According to official reports from the BMC, the collapse has resulted in at least two confirmed deaths. Emergency responders are currently on-site conducting search and rescue operations, as several residents are feared to be trapped beneath the debris. The area, characterized by dense residential structures known as chawls, is particularly vulnerable to such incidents during periods of heavy rainfall or unstable terrain.
