A violent incident occurred on Tuesday morning at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University High School in the southern Philippines, leaving two people dead and two others injured. According to Zamboanga City Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso, who spoke with local radio station DZMM, the perpetrator was a student who entered a classroom armed with a high-powered firearm.

Authorities confirmed that the shooter is among the deceased, along with one student victim. Two additional students were wounded in the attack and are currently receiving medical attention. While the investigation into the motive and the circumstances surrounding how the student obtained the weapon is ongoing, officials have not yet released the identities of those involved.
