Under this agreement, AI models will be trained using information from Ukraine’s 'Avengers' AI lab, which specializes in battlefield surveillance and threat detection. The technology relies on AI-optimized sensors embedded within buried fiber-optic cables, allowing the system to distinguish between different types of movement and activity.

The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance the protection of sensitive UK infrastructure, including energy plants, railways, and defense facilities. According to the government, the system will be capable of identifying both unauthorized protesters and potential incursions by hostile foreign states. A pilot program is scheduled to begin at a UK defense site to test the system's efficacy in a domestic environment.

Beyond government use, the agreement allows private companies access to this battlefield-derived data. The goal is to foster the development of new security systems that can be applied commercially or for broader national security purposes.
