Matt Clifford, who served as the chair of the UK government’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency (Aria), has stepped down from his role. The resignation comes shortly after Clifford accepted a position at the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence firm Anthropic. In his new role, Clifford is tasked with leading the company’s engagement with governments outside of the United States, including the UK.
