The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated legal action against a madrasa teacher in Uttar Pradesh’s Sant Kabir Nagar district. According to the agency, the individual allegedly maintained their employment and continued to receive a salary from the madrasa even after obtaining citizenship in the United Kingdom. This practice is under scrutiny as a potential violation of Indian regulations regarding foreign nationals and public employment.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the Lucknow zonal office of the ED has provisionally attached a land parcel measuring approximately 189.75 square meters located in Khalilabad village. The attachment of property is a standard procedure used by the agency to prevent the disposal of assets that may be linked to the proceeds of alleged financial misconduct. While the investigation is currently focused on the teacher's employment status and citizenship, authorities have not yet released a comprehensive timeline of how long the teacher allegedly held dual status or the total amount of salary in question.
