VFS Global has launched its first visa application facility in Guwahati, Assam. The center is designed to serve residents across eight states in Northeast India.
VFS Global has officially opened a new visa application center in Guwahati, marking the company's first such facility in the region. The center is intended to provide visa services to residents of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim.
According to the company, the location was chosen for its regional accessibility, citing the city's existing air, rail, and road infrastructure as key factors in supporting the needs of applicants from across the Northeast. By establishing this hub, VFS Global aims to reduce the travel burden for residents who previously had to seek visa services in more distant metropolitan areas. While the announcement focuses on the logistical convenience for regional travelers, it does not specify which countries' visas will be processed at this location or the expected volume of applications the center will handle.
