World Central Kitchen (WCK) CEO Erin Gore has issued a sharp rebuke regarding the Israeli Defense Forces' (IDF) handling of the incident that resulted in the death of Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom. Frankcom was one of seven WCK employees killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza while delivering humanitarian aid. The WCK leadership has expressed deep dissatisfaction with the IDF’s internal investigation and the subsequent disciplinary measures taken against the soldiers involved.

While the IDF has characterized the strike as a 'grave mistake' resulting from misidentification and a failure to follow standard operating procedures, WCK maintains that the incident reflects a systemic failure to protect aid workers in conflict zones. The organization has called for an independent investigation, arguing that the IDF’s internal review lacks the transparency and rigor necessary to ensure such a tragedy does not recur.
