The Yemeni government’s military has announced a series of offensive operations against Houthi forces. According to official reports, the Yemeni army conducted air strikes on Houthi outposts and equipment near the port city of Mocha and along northern front lines. Additionally, government forces stated they carried out drone strikes in the Marib governorate, while the pro-government Southern Giants Forces claimed to have inflicted significant personnel and equipment losses on Houthi fighters on the Kahboub front near the Bab al-Mandeb strait.

Simultaneously, the Houthi movement has faced a wave of international condemnation following reports of an attempted drone attack on the city of Mecca. The United Arab Emirates, Somalia, and Lebanon have all issued formal statements denouncing the incident. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun emphasized that the attack was an affront to the sanctity of holy sites, while Somalia condemned both the Mecca attempt and broader attacks on civilian areas within Saudi Arabia.

The United States has reaffirmed its position in the ongoing conflict. Neil Hop, the top U.S. diplomat for Yemen, held discussions with Yemeni Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zouba, during which he reiterated American support for the internationally recognized, Saudi-backed government. The U.S. embassy characterized the ongoing conflict as a struggle against “Iran-backed Houthi aggression,” signaling continued diplomatic alignment with the Yemeni government.
