A recent study conducted by Searcherries has revealed that YouTube is the most prominent source cited within Google’s AI Overviews for searches related to vitamins and supplements. According to the data, YouTube content appeared in 186 out of 350 analyzed AI-generated responses, accounting for 53.1% of the total citations. This makes the video platform the only website to be featured in more than half of the results examined during the research period.

The study involved tracking 50 daily searches over a set period to observe how Google’s AI summarizes information for users seeking health-related guidance. While the findings highlight YouTube’s significant presence in these automated summaries, the report does not provide a comparative analysis of other domains or the specific criteria Google uses to prioritize these video links over text-based sources. The data suggests that Google’s AI architecture currently favors video-based content when delivering answers to users inquiring about nutritional supplements. As Google continues to refine its AI Overviews, the reliance on YouTube as a primary information source for health topics remains a notable trend in search engine behavior.
